Most of us can probably remember back to the days as a teenager of hanging posters of favorite bands, singers or actors in your bedroom. They are what made your room your personal space, with all the things you were interested in staring back at you. It was a great place to hang out with your friends or listen to your music.
As we get older we find that posters are not only good for teenagers. Buying a print of a favorite painting or an artistic photograph is a great way to have something you love to display in your home, in the same way you hung pictures of the stars you idolized as a teen.
Besides the content of the posters, another thing changes from the time we are a teen to when we are adults is the way we display them. Rather than sticking the paper print directly on the wall we are more likely to want a more finished look to our poster hangings. Poster picture frames
There are many different types of poster picture frames. Like other frames, they come in a variety of different colors and materials. One difference may be that because of the large size, there is less likely to be much if any matting around between the poster and the frame.
As a matter of fact, some frames are not really “frames” at all. They are simply two sheets of glass or acrylic between which you can put your poster. There is hanging hardware on the back too, so hanging the poster is simple. The clear material will keep your poster flat, straight and protected, but with a minimum of design. This is the perfect option if you want to simply see the poster, without the distraction of a frame.
Think about the different rooms in your home. Do you have a large wall that is screaming for a bigger than standard size picture? Why not find a poster that reflects your personal style and will look nice in your living room, kitchen or library? You might choose a cute animal print for the baby’s room. Posters work great to make a statement about the people in any room of your house and their likes and interests.
Poster picture frames are easy to find at poster shops and you may be able to find them in discount and department stores, too. They come in a variety of materials to choose from.
But you don’t have to save the poster picture frames for your own sophisticated shots. Get some for your teenaged children to hang their favorite posters in. Their poster of choice is likely to change a lot more often than yours is, but they will always have someplace nice to hang it, keeping their room looking nice, instead of grungy.
